3D Artist
Job Summary
Create high quality 3D art assets as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team that has more than 17 years of experience creating top selling games for the Playstation3, Playstation2, Playstation, Xbox, Linux, and PC.
Duties
- Create 3D real-time in-game models of characters, creatures, and environments
- Draw detailed concept illustrations of characters, creatures, objects, vehicles, and environments
- Create high quality textures and apply them to 3D models
- Create normal, ambient occlusion, and additional maps using Maya, Z-Brush, or Mudbox
- Sculpt highly detailed 3D meshes from reference photos or sketches and invent necessary fine-grain details
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to model and texture characters, vehicles, and environments
- Knowledge of modern mapping techniques such as normal maps, ambient occlusion, parallax mapping, and shaders
- Experience with 3D modelling and texturing using Maya
- The ability to quickly iterate on sketches to visualize concepts
- The ability to create art work that meets the particular artist style of each of our games
- Strong traditional and digital art skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to take direction well
- Basic oral and written English
Preferred Qualifications
- A love for playing videogames and good instincts for game design
- Experience developing art assets for a video games
Portfolio Requirements
- Examples of modelled and textured 3D characters, objects, and environments
- Work that demonstrates outstanding drawing and fine art skills in a variety of art styles
- Examples of 2D concept art that show an ability to design unique characters and environments
